Welcome to
Merced Manor
Merced Manor is a residential neighborhood located in the southwestern part of San Francisco. It is conveniently located near several commercial areas, including the Stonestown Galleria shopping mall and the Ocean Avenue commercial corridor. Originally the land was the traditional lands of the Ohlone tribe, who lived in the area for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans. The Spanish colonized the region in the late 1700s, followed by the Mexican government. In the early 1900s, a real estate developer named John McLaren purchased a portion of the land and began subdividing it into lots. Merced Manor was officially established as a neighborhood in the 1920s and experienced a significant population boom after World War II. Today, it remains a popular residential area known for its distinctive architecture and community feel.
